I'm pretty sure you can report that. You can't just ban willy nilly.

i'm fairly certain that Shroud has control over their forums on Steam and they are theirs to moderate, but it wouldn't hurt to report it anyway. I love Steam, but their CS is famously poor.
While that post is inflammatory, I can't see anything offensive that I would consider deserving of a ban.

Steam has rules that you have to follow.

If, as an authority figure, you're not out to demonstrate you're being deceptive, or being a jerk, or are lazy, censorship is a very risky endeavor. When you censor a statement or statements that are true, OR you don't explain why they're lies or false, all you do is amplify the Streisand effect. If what was said was false, state why it was false. If what was said was true, why are you censoring it? So, well done, Portalarium. You have now caused the Streisand effect for yourself. Achievement Unlocked! You can check that off your bucket list.

i'm fairly certain that Shroud has control over their forums on Steam and they are theirs to moderate, but it wouldn't hurt to report it anyway. I love Steam, but their CS is famously poor. While that post is inflammatory, I can't see anything offensive that I would consider deserving of a ban. I read the initial post, why was it banned? There was nothing inflammatory. The post clearly establishes many of the short comings of Portalarium and its intent, as I read it, is to get the word out that people should find this sort of behavior as unsatisfactory and I think it clearly has an angry tone its trying to impress upon the reader. Inflammatory isn't necessarily bad. I don't think anything in that post was unjustified. I suppose inflammatory could be viewed in two ways here though, one possibly being meant as inflammatory towards Portalarium's supporters, which I do not believe was the purpose. I meant it is inflammatory as in what it describes could make interested parties angry towards Portalarium. I believe the content (not the post itself) was inflammatory. Telling someone something with the intent of producing an angry response or response of outrage is most definitely inflammatory. Not everything inflammatory is deserving of a ban and even well thought out, logical arguments in a fair and concise tone can be inflammatory. Just to reiterate, I do not agree that post deserves a ban. I can see why they wouldn't want that on their forum, but I don't think they are justified in deleting it. I will assume here that what you mean is that Valve has rules that developers have to follow governing the administration of the discussion groups provided through Steam. I agree this may very well be true and that's why I clearly stated that I thought dodgy should report the ban. However, neither of us knows what the extent of those rules is. Here's what I'm going to speculate though. Valve dgaf about individual steam game forum access and likely gives such minor administration over to the developer/publisher to control. There are 7000+ games on Steam, the vast majority of them with multiple forums. Do I think a company that has received an F from the BBB since 2013 invests a great deal of company attention to justified or unjustified bannings on some useless forum by overseeing the behavior of the game developers who are making them money by selling their game on steam and exerting some sort of control over the sort of speech allowed on such a forum? dodgy wasn't banned from steam or even banned from a game on steam. He was banned from posting on a forum which Steam has given admin abilities to developers. It takes days to process a single return through Steam, up to 7, and you think that they are going to somehow oversee complaints from users over whether their bans by companies they are partnered with are justified? So, dodgy should report it. Maybe? I'm stating that I don't think Valve gives a shit, most likely doesn't give a shit, hasn't had a great history of giving a shit, and probably can't govern its 90 [edited thanks myrcello ] million users and 7,000 games with a heavy handed system where one can report issues as minute as a single forum ban because that sort of system isn't feasible. Or, you know, there could be like rules or some shit.

Oh, I leave for a few days on a business trip and all hell breaks loose! ...wait a minute, no it didn't. This is just business as usual for Portalarium, isn't it?
Shadow of Light got banned too: https://www.reddit.com/r/shroudoftheavatar/comments/45qeq5/banned_on_steam_for_saying_portalarium_dont_give/

Nah, I know SoL well, she isn't pro-SotA by any stretch of the imagination. She used to be - a long time ago, like most of us when there was still a glimmer of hope that SotA might turn out alright - but Port burnt those bridges. What SoL is, however, is level-headed and fair; she's the last person you'll see breaking any rules, even as she's been critical of Portalarium. For her to be banned is just ridiculous.

The more people they ban, the more negative attention they will get. Banning became people say things they don't like. Sad.
