I often can't sleep and normally catch it up on the weekend.
Anyone got any tips?
Ideally I want to sleep 2100 to 0500.
Cheers

Terrible problems sleeping More often than not if anything is going to help me at all, I find that popping in some earphones and listening to music helps quite a bit. I sing along in my head and that breaks the cycle of thinking about other noise.

Cut the caffeine, and especially don't have any past lunchtime

I can fall asleep in less than 5 minutes. But, I don't drink any caffeinated beverages, no sugar in my diet (fruit or naturally occurring sugars in food only), and a variety of healthy veggies (especially greens). Though I have alcohol on occasion, I try to avoid it for the most part. I try not to eat past 8:00 PM (20:00). Magnesium foods (pecans, Brazil nuts) or supplements can help relax muscles too. And last, not watching or doing something stimulating for a couple hours or more before bed (sports, games, TV).

If sleeping is really an issue for you, listen to Caliya. Her advice is good. 1. Diet can affect your sleep. 2. Exercise too 3. If those don't work, try melatonin*. 4. If melatonin fails, try Diphenhydramine or another OTC sleep aid* at your discretion. 5. Avoid looking at computer screens for 3 or more hours before bedtime and/or use software to remove the blue from your screen at night (one example is F.lux). 6. If the condition is still a problem, consult a physician. 7. Lastly, if you don't already try to sleep during the same hours each night, do so. Regulating your circadian rhythm will help you sleep better and fall asleep faster. *I caution you not to get too comfortable on any sleep-aid assuming you find one that works.
