Hi all.
I feel like there is a point when "complaining" reaches a point that shows me that some of us lost connection to the ground.
We are talking about a Game that is being made. Nothing more. A Game. Yes. We have a passion for Games.
And passion has the power to turn the worst out of us sometimes. But it also makes us blind and lets us forget about the big picture.
I always tell myself i do not want my hobby to turn me into such monsters you can see often at youth baseball or other sport games.
Those parents who forget them-self and make a game, a hobby to become a "nightmare" on the sideline.
Kids watching parents punch each other, or cursing like crazy, or even cursing towards the kids on the playground.
I had many situations i do not agree how SotA decided to do something. And becoming emotional to a degree is understandable.
But there is a point when you have to ask yourself if you are not becoming even worse then the people you are complaining about.
I am not talking about the Sota Forum. I am talking about the content in this forum.
Wishing a Game to Fail? Or wishing a company to fail? Sorry. No matter what decision are made.
Actually i would moderate this. Jup. 100% sure i would moderate it.
I feel bad for the employees, maybe even the children of those employees who are proud of what the parents are doing , in-case they read this.
That is going to far.
Complaining, To Disagree, To point out something wrong. Fine.
And we all are able to pull the plug if a game does not turn out, or the company does not feel like to be supportable.
There are many people developing this game who are trying the best they can to make this game wonderful. More then 40 employees that Portalarium has.
They have the same passion as many of us had. They learned skills and went to schools to be able to create the games they liked the same way we do.
And reading posts here that you wish a game to fail is like wishing there hard work and creativity to fail. It is like wishing someone to fail in a job.
Many Corporations would laugh about the complains you have towards decision that Portalarium has made and you present as a "Nightmare" in this Forum.
Ask yourself what your own company you are employed is doing daily - what the Public Relation Department is doing, your Marketing Department, your Human Resource, Your CEO.
Incase they have done any decision that could be the same like Portalarium has done. Are you still working for them?
I am actually 100% sure that most are in such companies. I hope they keep you, i hope they succeed. Because i am not living in Disney Land like you all are here expecting a Company to run like a social institution.
A company is more then 3 decision you complain about. Many decision Dallas, DarkStarr, Chirs have done have been also very good, they have been on other parts during the development the opposite of how you describe them.
But just looking at the grey cloud i consider not fair. And also not objective.
This Forum lost objectivity.
I do agree that the other Forum is not neutral. And jup, it is not easy to run a Forum that consist of "Investors" that are at the same time "Fans".
Believe me we all would do our mistakes, many mistakes.
You Insane Membrane would do mistakes , I would, Kuno Bauer would and Jovirex would do them also.
I am 100% sure.
So basically i approve complains, i approve discussion and other positions.
But i just want you not to become those freaks screaming " Burn Portalarium Burn".
This is not Illuminati, this is not a secret conspiracy company. Wake up.
It is a Company making a Game. And at the end of course a good game they want.
Of course i read that some of you want to be able to refund. And if a Portalarium Employee is reading my post.
I truly hope you find a solution to give banned players the option to sale there stuff, to be able to get the investment back.
Because a customer has the right to turn away from a product. And better to support them to walk away with a refund and end a disagreement in a good way.
