I'm not exactly certain what category RG is throwing his game under this month but a few things make me wonder what kind of game this really is. I was under the impression that it would be a mmorpg style game but after playing the game it is far from that. When visiting the forums you'll notice one thing that has always been present and that is that the majority of posters are expressing that they want safe zones, they don't care for pvp, they want to be able to do everything in game safely with no effort at all put in, they don't want to think or have to create tactics, strategy. I believe that these people are partially responsible for the direction the game has headed. The way the game is built with complete randomness, no skill or talent needed, putting everyone on a equal mediocre level, housing, decorations, making chat functions a priority over combat, etc, it really does seem like this game is more of a simulation rpg hybrid than anything else.
What category would you put this game under?

The game's direction is being driven by the small percentage of elite backers who are nothing more than arm-chair wannabe developers. These wankers have paid their way into creating the game. They give the developers regular blowjobs so that the game development continues exactly the way they want it. Garriott is pandering to the forum elite. Yes, it's a simulation of sorts, one that simulates a pathetic drama.

Fantasy Sims Online.
Honestly, it seems to me the game community itself has split into Felucca and Trammel, and the Trammel faction has completely dominated the game's community presence and has imposed itself on the development of the game.

When I say simulation, I mean The Sims type of game. I do find it weird that some useless fanboy turds like try hard violation send the developers presents. I'm sure things like this lead to a lot of the favoritism and direction of the game. I remember when the developers kept looking to violation for pvp tips, like he was the person to goto, when in reality this guy was extremely lazy and clueless. He would argue with you one week than the next week he would be supporting exactly what he argued against. Either way, I don't see mmorpg anywhere in this game, it's like the medieval sims to me with a few touches of ultra fagtardedness, like those coconuts.

They don't know if they should go back to steampunk or Tesla does the time warp again.
