Yeah, Shards is really pushing on point C, or wanting to at least. Most of the community there are from NWN and seemingly all seems to be happy there with dev moving in that direction.
I got a kick out of "lets not turn this into a rant about Portalarium" lulz.
How can you not at this point?

Some of my most enjoyable moments in a mmoish game were in Nwn, when there was a good DM on the server, I have no idea why developers seem to not implement this kind of system into games, even if it is the developers having to DM. I've played a bit of Shards, it's a fun game, not enough content to really get a full impression on it yet though. I wish they would open the servers more.

D is most important. I bet they started planning 1 week before the KS. Also, I'm happy with Shards Online, glad I Kickstarted it. |

I feel this game has the most potential (over underworld and crowfall) Supreem is a class act and with draconi on board, don't be surprised if this is the gem we are looking for. |

The only things that currently worry me about shards is how servers will be setup, I'll most likely be playing on official servers to avoid abusive server owners, went through hell with that in Nwn and if they can even create a worth while game. I like what I've seen and played so far but I'm not really sure where the funding is coming from, they didn't make very much on the KS. On the being able to play Shards subject, they've had public play tests before, open to anyone but now I think you only have access if your pledge is high enough in this testing phase. Recently they haven't opened up the server much at all, I think 2 times this year only for a couple hours.

Talking with the devs, they have been really busy getting work done. |

During the last play test Surpeem actually came and chatted with me for a bit, killed a few things, it was nice to see a developer actually getting involved with the players.
