Use only positive aspects of Shroud of the Avatar to sell it to someone on the fence or whom has not heard of the game prior.

Agree with khael Why would I try to be positive to someone "on the fence"? I'd rather save them money, and probably that's the most positive thing I could say about SotA. "Pass this one by, use your money for something that's designed well and you don't start out as a pauper with no chance to catch up." The only thing that appeals to me about the game, as it stands right now, are some of the graphics like scenery, buildings (other than the dreadful looking housing) and lighting.

The problem is that after I know everything I know, it's hard to sell it at all.
Assume, for a moment, that I'm blissfully ignorant of the shitstorm that is SotA. Even back then I bought it on a hunch that it might end up being something cool. That's no different than Gloria Victis, for me; it looks like it has potential but I wouldn't try selling it to anyone. "You like Ultima and/or Ultima Online? Well several of the same people are behind this and it looks like they've got a lot of support." That's my sales pitch.
Graphics? Nope. POTs? Nope. Overland map? Nope.
"You can play the single player with other people." Okay, so like most shitty MMOs that have a "single player experience"? That's not a selling point.
The crafting system looks like it could be cool, but I'm not sure I would ever use it as a selling point.

For those with the time and inclination, it is a good place for older people to spend time and use as a vaguely medieval fantasy environment. I say older because the game's audience happens to skew older and therefore those that feel younger players might be at a different maturity level might be happy in a game world like this.
It allows people to decorate a home they can call their own. Much like games like Second Life or The Sims, SotA provides spaces the player can control in order to have social experiences in a virtual environment. If a person's primary desire is to play a game by interacting with other players outside of combat or crafting, this game might be for that person.

I thought about it and I really cant think of anything I could tell someone to try and sell the game to them.
Nothing new about the game or what the devs are doing. Lets slap some cheap ass assets into the game and throw it out there. Theyve cut corners from the start which should have been another warnin sign for me. The only message i could give to a person thinkin bout buyin the game is "Beware!" "Dont waste your money on it trust me"

If you want to play the Serf to one of the bizaros who represent the most invested in the game come on in....they will let you have a house in their PoT and quick you out on a whim.
How does that not sound fun? I mean, we should be thankful to those people.

argyle got me thinking ....dangerous thing lol
If you yearn for your youth, and enjoy retro games, this is the one for you.
If graphics are not a priority, but the community of players that you meet and talk with, and pretend to fish without fishing poles, are a priority, then you will absolutely love this game.
If combat is boring to you, and you like looking like a 1970s anime cartoon, you will really love making characters to play this game.
If overpowered fantasy creatures are your idea of power, and love that feeling of being toast instantly, this will really get your heart pumping. Give it a go!
If you enjoy using your thick reading glasses to see yourself on the overland map, and wandering in the dark because it's realistic, you will love hours and hours of travel and the feeling of blazing the same territory because you got lost. Realism is the name of this game, and you will truly feel a sense of deep frustration at your travel times and exploration, just as you would if you were a pioneer for real.
If you enjoy financially supporting a development team for the above enjoyment, then you will be right at home, throwing endless amounts of cash at them. You will be able to boast to all your friends and neighbors that you own a lot of digital goods they don't have. What's more, you can use those skills to take advantage of them by charging them rent to live in your very own, awesomely constructed, town.
Carve out your own empire! People will be green with envy at what you possess! Invest today!

The only positive thing that they care about that I like is the housing aspect. They just butchered the Financials behind it...sorry half of that was negative
