In the past people have come to me indicating that this is my forum or my blog, I don't exactly think of it that way.
I've always thought of it as a service for those of us who were not happy with how something we really enjoyed was turning out, a way to voice our feelings on SotA where there was no place to do so.
That said I think of you all as an integral part of the project. I'm not quite sure if I will keep blogging with the same content or to the same degree as I was prior to all of this taking place because I seem to be making us targets. Which I was ok with when it was only me. Doesn't even matter by who, fact of the matter is that someone out there came here and is a serious flower. I got the message, and if my leaving my posts up with your names/handles there on the comments is a problem I do not wish it to be.
I have no problem removing every post there and leaving up a place holder. I just don't wish to be a further risk for anyone looking to take their aggressions on us.
So vote. Ideally leave yes or no comments so we all know your thoughts.

Insane Membrane, allow me to speak for the entire federation of banned posters and otherwise displaced Novian peoples.
The powers that seek to undermine us, to attack our families and our children, must not be given the latitude to dictate our actions. If we surrender such authority, even if only to protect those we love, then we shall serve only to reward and exacerbate their efforts.
We must not shut down SU. Rather, we must stand together, and seize Valor in the face of uncertainty. To whomever has enough to lose to be pushed toward such a vile act, to he or she who has found in themselves the motive, capacity, and inhumanity necessary to commit this blatantly sub-human behavior, and to Portalarium, who knowingly and wrongly attributes these crimes to IM despite the transgressions committed against his own wife and children, know that your every action against us will only bolster our virtue and embolden our resolve.
May we hope that this individual or collection of individuals ceases their actions, if not in the name of virtue, then in the name of fruitlessness, for we, the people of SotA and SU alike, will not be terrorized, coerced, or otherwise intimidated.

You're having an impact, why would you jump ship? I think the impact was created, but no further application of said force will result in any meaningful result.

You're having an impact, why would you jump ship? I think the impact was created, but no further application of said force will result in any meaningful result. You're wrong because this game will be in "Alpha" for a year or more, and people investigating how craptastic this game is, will have nowhere else to turn. They censor their reddit page, they censor IRC, they censor their forums, they censor steam, they only have reviews on websites where the person reviewing is Bias. They have control over every forum, but not *THIS* one. Tho it appears they are trying to stop you, as well.

I think the impact was created, but no further application of said force will result in any meaningful result. I disagree. There are people named johndoe here, IM, for cying out loud. We're talking about people legitimately afraid of criticizing a game to prevent losing hundreds or even thousands of dollars of invested money, time and effort in a fucking game. It isn't even launched yet. We're not saving people's lives but we are educating folks. People don't have a place to legitimately learn about this game outside of some shitty comment sections on review sites. And face it, they don't really have much because this game isn't getting a lot of exposure (for obvious reasons). Look at all the folks jumping ship recently - that's recently, man - and all because they're getting wise to the reality over there. That is in no small part to the discussions here, I guarantee it. We remove things or take them down, and that's that many more people who will go to launch with huge accounts that they can no longer sell off. We're helping folks over here, not tons, but enough.

Voicing the truth is usually painful, but it still affects people. Look at Amber Raine. She is upset at things you've said, but she admits the truth hurts. So when it hurts, people want to hurt back.
People are afraid to associate with us, because of a tarnished association. Or they try to dox and threaten us. Over a game. I mean, what could be so damned important about that game that deserves threatening people?
Money.
I call that criminal to want to threaten people over money. And it's not us that are the criminals.

What's the point of asking us if we wanted the blog if you planned to let it die anyway? =p
If you were threatened legally, there is no reason you shouldn't let that be known.

The point was to ask if to kill it or trim comments posts off it because it leaves traces of everyone who had engagements or comments on the blog thus potentially leading them to attacks from whomever has been conducting the harassment. Not if I was going to continue posting on the blog or not I have not been threatened legally.

I think you should continue to point out their inconsistencies and half-truths in your blog posts. Maybe they will better themselves, or maybe you'll discourage people from buying it. Either way its a good outcome. IMO. That being said, we cant MAKE you post. However you've accomplished quite a bit, enough that even the die-hard SOTA people are coming here. Like ive mentioned, if nothing else maybe they will take some of this to heart and make some changes. We can only hope, but i think their Egos may get in the way. Strong people take critique as a way to better themselves. Weak ones, take offense.

I think this should continue.
I also think, people should start using the steam forums to put some of this info up...they can lock it there yes, but that would look extremely sketchy. You don't get the same level of exposure here.

if nothing else maybe they will take some of this to heart and make some changes. As long as they offer asshats like Envy their own forum over at Shroud, rather than people like IM who actually tell the truth and don't have a whale investment in the game, there won't be any changes over there. Gotta remember, it's dallas's forum rules, and look - he's older and not likely to change. Not a purposeful stereotype but just sayin', it's usually the case.

Sad to hear about the latest developments and the fate of the blog.
The blog is the only reason this miserable game is still on my radar. I'm not a regular poster, here or on the official forums, but I am a regular lurker. This blog/forum is the only place on the entire internet where you can actually look past the smoke and mirrors and see this game, the developers, the prominent community members, for what they really are. I'm just a lowly first responder. My dinner last night cost more than the money I have put in to this game. But it is the principle of what is happening that pisses me off and keeps me around. The developers constantly lie and give preferential treatment to certain community members. They are extremely behind on making the game because they spend all of their resources trying to find new ways to milk the community. The game still plays, controls, runs, and looks like ass even though it will be in development for 3 years soon. Basic shit like "make the player character not move like a clunky piece of shit" should have been ironed out ages ago. But they're too busy making whale town # 78 and whale bait on the add-on store.
Anyways, thanks for giving people like us a home over the past couple years. I like to believe that this site has kept people from making the grave mistake of investing into this crappy game.

I think you should continue to point out their inconsistencies and half-truths in your blog posts. Maybe they will better themselves, or maybe you'll discourage people from buying it. Certainly never any intention to prevent sales of the game. I may have a little laugh and gasp in horror at the people buying it based on the "positive" feedback they get from the various cheering squads around SotA and Steam though. But yes on the inconsistencies. They wanted to do this crowdfunding thing, so they have to deal with the crowd. I don't care about the fact that I, in good faith, donated to the Kickstart for X and because it was in faith it doesn't matter that I should get Y. Y isn't good enough.

You don't get the same level of exposure here. SotA Devs have direct access over Steam forums though. They have deleted posts, removed actual entire reviews, banned users who owned the game for their honest feedback. How can you expect to get a message across on Steam? Yes, it would look incredibly sketchy, we know they already are and have noticed the steam deletions and Chris outbursts... But when they delete them, which they have, how is the general pubic to know? This forum is one answer to that question I suppose... But this is wrong thread to discuss forum future

The thing is, IM, nothing you do can prevent sales of the game, because there is no game to buy. It hasn't been released yet. Nobody knows when it will be. Anyone "buying" this is actually opting into a particularly abusive pyramid scheme involving people who are okay with Doxing someone over whatever the hell this project has really become.

It hasn't been released yet. I know. Yet look at the amount of money people still pour into this thing per month. I almost think some people might be hooked on this kind of thing. I suppose I just don't quite understand what they are paying to play at the moment. Most of the content in the game now goes into a property lot in some fashion(include POTs in this), be it a house or a decoration. A good part of it then goes into decorating your player directly(lingerie) or enhancing your player's interaction through decorative items(snowballs). The only answer I can come up with is that some people must consider this a good enough sandbox to actually enjoy and keep paying into. That shocks me though.
