So another beauty from BMC: I'm going to add one more thing... And this is directed to those that think the BMC, or Pax, or DoD, or OOV, or Weeping Seven, or @themo Lock, or @winfield, or @lord Andernut, or @nbnn News, @blake Blackstone, or @amber Raine, or any other individual or group is given special treatment above the other by the DEVS... You want to know why the DEVS show that appreciation? Because those names above and many many others, understand the significance of our investments, and understand the responsibility that was taken to ourselves to help Portalarium to stand alone and develop this game. We endorse the idea that I've explained in the quote, and even though we have our differences, the main goal should never be lost... The success of the platform that we are helping to build. I hope everyone that reads this, realizes their importance and their responsibility to what is actually going on here... And that we all line ourselves up into an equal yoke, and with the force of 1000 winds, show the corporate world, that WE, the backers, the investors, the custodians, the benefactors, the players, WILL NOT go quietly into the night. We have a voice, we have a will, we have the means, and we can achieve something that the corporations cant... Our world... Guys... In that yoke of unwavering support for Portalarium and it's development endeavors, is where favor is found... I beseech all of you to come and partake. I love you guys... Everyone of you... Have a great day and enjoy your gaming, Duke Ezekiel Cooper President, BMC www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/an-open-request-to-portalarium.43443/page-7

Tell me again how someone spends over $100,000 on Portalarium virtual products feels this way about Portalarium again?
Please? I totally can't see the connection.

It's great, he essentially admits to getting special favors for their pledge rewards and then attempts to justify it. Also, I guess good on including bblackstone ? Didn't he leave saying people were being given favors or something similar? Wasn't Ezekiel one of the dudes he included in his later deleted post?

Amen!!!This is what I am talking about. Every bit helps if we all pitch in we can make this happen. With that said before posting about why this game hasn't launched ask yourselves. What have you done to help the game launch? Did you create in game items? Did you roll up your sleeves and help PORT move ? Did you create a dungeon? How can you help? What talents or skills do you posses that can help here? If you don't have any, take the time to learn how to code objects. There are people on the forums that will hand feed you answers. Did you complain on the boards that the game hasn't launched but you have done zilch?? I hope not.... So people have to pay $60,000 AND do the coding for the game themselves? What a bargain! What did I do? Well I gave feedback, sketched out alternative designs for systems multiple times, submitted some Cow heraldry, hinted a few times I'd worked on UO as an EM so I was very familiar with how their quests work, submitted a poem for a then shut down fiction contest... The problem is, unless you're prepared to constantly get in the dev's faces and force yourself into their awareness, they have no way of recognising talent except sucking up or forking out. They might have tried, but there's no sense they were truly open to actual crowd-sourcing. That's why gigantic baby-men like Envy became the defacto voice for PvP, he has a monstrous ego and decided his voice was more important than any one else's; and no one else wanted to post videos of themselves killing people who can't fight back, because they were trying to test the actual game. You can see the true value of listening to just the most noticeable voice though with his ridiculous response to "We'll offer you a private forum, but do you think you could be a little less..." WAAAAHHHH NO MOMMY TAKING MY BALL AND GOING HOME! But even so, the only reason he got access to all the content was because he'd spent multiple thousand dollars again. THAT is why players are leaving. No matter how much you help the dev team, you're still locked out of the only content stream there is unless you keep spending. And anyone behind the spending curve realises they can never catch up no matter what they do. Even if you help Portalarium move with free slave labour. Which for an MMO is deadly, because levelling up, achieving, collecting, is the main gameplay draw. Much as I despise Elite Dangerous for it's cash grabbing expansion designs for instance, at least it understood that you have to keep in game progression separate from the funding model. Portalarium have lost that separation, and that's what's tearing the soul out of their community, NOT that people weren't willing to put their souls in originally.

Thisssssssssssssssssssss. +1 - I can't whore myself and constantly try to get in their pants like that either. I have self respect too, believe it or not! You gots it all nemo, well said.

Great post, and this jumped out at me. Even giving a lot of money in funding and developing resources for the game, for free, didn't do anything for someone like Joviex whose only "crime" was telling the bald truth. You can buy lies and deceit, and contribute for free to your heart's content, as long as it pumps the game sales & doesn't make waves. But tell the truth about the lies the devs tell people, forget it. For someone to say that customers should both pay and develop the game, that guy is a mental case.

It's also funny they say people should submit things like it is still possible...they have no idea this hasn't been possible in a couple of years.
So out of touch.
