www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/an-open-request-to-portalarium.43443/page-3In a reply to Darkmoon, newly created stooge account Phydra had this to say: You don't need my agreement, friend, you can take your argument to the law and see how it fares ( hint: about as well as your current efforts have on changing this reality, no?). Show me anything to indicate that they duped anyone WITH INTENT and THEN your unhappiness is based in reason. Indeed, prove that you never clicked through the "construction zone" screen and you have a point that law might support.A picture is worth 1,000 words yeah? So: That is what Dallas had to accept before creating the SotA Kickstart page. They would already be guilty of not meeting these goals if the game went live today, and that is the reason it can't go live until the "backers decide" because they have to appease us before they land their asses in court over this. As for intent... You don't need to intend to fuck up to break the law. Have you ever heard of manslaughter?

Yeah well the guy who did Greed Monger took off with the cash produced nothing and nothing happened. It annoys me that private UO servers and the runUO and POL emulators produced some amazingly fun things yet heres Unity and people reckon 7 million isnt enough to produce a fantastic game. I call utter bullshit.

I call utter bullshit. UO was a fully funded functioning game. It wasn't difficult to redistribute everything already created. Unity is an engine that can require shitloads of work to turn into a game. One of the most expensive aspects of a game is art creation. It is slow and it is insanely expensive.

Isn't that what we're using though, and doesn't it kind of look shit? They wrote extensively why they chose unity and frankly we have not seen any of the supposed perks. Im pretty sure you would be forgiving of the shit look if the gameplay was sound and the numerous other flaws (whales/cash shop etc) wasnt there

Oh totally. I'm not about the graphics at all. One thing I will say is that some of the stuff from the Unity store in the game and some of the stuff they have come up with on their own for the game looks worse rendered in the game. I'm uneducated in Unity and gamedev both so I'm ignorant as to why, but I kind of figured that if you had a unity game it would just render it as well as it is displayed elsewhere. Perhaps they are rendering some of these assets in 3rd party software or a modified version of their client with better shaders n shit, I dunno. Joviex?

So, this discussion has actually been also posted and picked up over on the SotA Facebook page where I am seeing some very interesting comments.

Oh I forgot, people using your real identities posting opinions that SotA people don't like there? Fucking watch out, and take me seriously here.

Did they delete the discussion on it, because I scroll and find nothing on this topic, only worry about people dropping like flies

Caliya make sure you go through and look carefully for the "read more" and "50 replies" things here and there to expand.

I saw that post too but it does not seem related to the legal talk in the OP? People are just pretty disgruntled for various reasons, which is understandable.

Yeah sorry, I kinda dirtied up this thread. Can we get a fucking moderator in here already?
lawl.
So the first post is related to the link in the first post and all took place on sota forum. Then I came in later and said that it continued on FB. Guy copy/paste his post in both locations, SotA and FB.
The picture from KS is what I posted here and isn't in the SotA threads. Phydra's post was on the SotA forum page3, and it is on the saved PDF in the vault. PDF Page 9/10.

aha and I didn't connect the trail. Ok, I didn't mean to accuse you of being off topic, but you confus-or-ed me
I did read all those expanded posts and kept expecting to see the legal talk lol
Let's moderate the moderator for going off topic here! haha
