I'm always apprehensive when I see a new post in the POT subforum here.

My mother invited me to see her retirement home in a Florida retirement community when we head down there in a little over a week. She got upset when I told her I didn't want to take time out of my day to pop by a home that is essentially the same as 1,500 other homes in the same community. It doesn't matter how she rearranges her living room.

I guess that would be the point of his suggestions. The problem is I don't want to go into his POT or any other POT for quite a few reasons. There isn't a lot that is going to move my opinion on that.

I lean towards still thinking that it is important to point out when a member of a minority keeps knocking up new ideas to benefit less than 1% of the backers.
One might argue that enriching POTs enriches the experience for people who visit them also, but then just look at how many will intend on playing single player only.

One might argue that enriching POTs enriches the experience for people who visit them But those POTs gotta' have more than 1 or 2 people in them. There have been plenty of games without official town mechanics that allowed housing, and player run towns succeeded. Why? Because of the communities therein. People went for the interaction, the role-playing, the raids on the village, the events the people might have held; it didn't require dumping a few paychecks into a shitty little instance to have a town.

without official town mechanics +1 for sandbox I think there is an unwritten promise here that $$ makes you big shit in SotA. The Devs do their fair share of pushing us to $ up, however it is the community that continues to perpetuate the $ is BOSS ideal. It is unfortunate.

Can we ask the biggest question here?
What is the point of sieges?
Player x purchased his pot for $1000. You telling me, that you can have a siege and lose ownership of your POT? Of course not.
So explain to me what the fucking point is of PoT vs PoT and sieges?

Suppose we'll have to wait to find out. Sieges are linked to the "Players take over the world" stretch goal. Probably POI NPC towns.

Well, Drocis has a plan, see. Chase out all dissent so that the only thing left is the echo chamber, where the ones who are sticking it out, get their way.

They do serve a purpose, $. Also don't forget how pissy most of the community was about the scare of limited housing! Fact: early enough in the dev process a lot of people actually cashed up and bought houses because it was limited. They were told it was to be limited and that it would hold value in game. They screwed those early backers deliberately.
I say deliberately because it certainly wasn't a mistake, you can debate the reasons on why they screwed those backers but they certainly did! Two of the biggest reasons would have to be outcry from the people without $550 to spend on a game to get a virtual house who wanted one, and the amount of money Port saw in virtual sales for plots, places for plots, things for plots, and things for things for things in plots. I mean shit... there are like 10 unique types of monsters in the entire game, yet there is a hundred decorations.
What the fuck.
