SotA is by far more like UO than any other Ultima that ever came into existence. Is there a problem with anyone at all understanding that?

Problem is, for those who didn't invest to rape others financially, the game isn't even anything like UO either.

It's also not like UO in that there the items were generated by gameplay (even the server birth rares) which is technically open to anyone, and thus the valuation of the items is free to float about based on the in game population and availab;e currency. Here it's tied to real world value and only comes into the game if people spend, so it's both carrying a much deeper social stigma as well as likely to remain valued excessively high because those who do purchase want their money back, or more.
Right now, the game reminds me closest of Spore, in that you have to fill all the gaps in content and poor gameplay with your imagination, and if you don't buy all the expansions that came immediately after launch, quite a few tools are missing already.
