I checked the Dev+ forum and, embarassingly, my own blog posts. It wasn't the QA server being rolled into production that was the problem, it was simply the gold handouts by Toad and other devs in conjunction with Violations exploitation of the character starting gold.
Handed to some, word got out, people were pissed, more gold handed to others, more word got out, more people were pissed, and so on.

I was kind of hoping the Dev+ backers were all of one mind, as it would at least give a reason for Portalarium being so, so blind to what it's doing to the long term success of the game; if they had a very small bubble they were drawing responses from, it might make a bit of innocent sense. But if the Dev+ forums are equally mixed, sad to say it just seems like they're actually incapable of understanding and it doesn't bode well for the future.
Which is why it's wrong, and you can't hide that from incoming purchasers, and it's why SotA's reputation is slowly sinking.
And this contradicts the prior quote, can you not see? How does removing half a pledge prove more warning than giving the date for the removal of the entire pledge? No, it's purely about motivating people to spend more by reducing the value of other people's pledges.
Furre, as people who pledged right at the start of the timeline are losing out on an upgrade path, so it differs from the "first come, more rewarded" model by retroactively reducing people's value irrespective of time committed. I personally think, and why I'm so disgusted with the Devs now, that they're taking out the physical parts because they realise they've massively over subscribed them, and someone somewhere said "Hey, we can save ourselves a lot of signing, and encourage the egotistical and rich to pledge more, by gutting the pledge rewards." And as I was the one who personally asked about physical pledges, because I was trying to help them do a bit of advertising to the wider audience, it makes me feel nauseous.
I pointed out elsewhere on these forums that real people have real lives; they may not be able to pledge on demand because of medical issues, unemployment, bereavement, more pressing concerns of your choice... But they got in early assuming they would always be able too, as long as the pledge system was up. Whilst it's active then, it should be fixed around clear, consistent and equal offers; Yes, at the level I funded, I avoid these penalties. But it's still unfair and wrong to arbitrarily move around the value of pledges just to psychologically manipulate Whales, even if it doesn't affect me personally. And what saddens me is that if Dev+ forums isn't unified on the question either, it really must be just money talking.

Hate to rain on the parade but I sprint just like everyone else to get my lot. I've raised quite a bit of hell over hand outs in the past(IM can attest), but nothing carries over from the QA server. Just as FYI states, Im surprised when they roll things out. I actually think they have a lot more done than they release out to us.
I have no inside information, and this is a total guess, but I think the town editor was contracted out. Again, this is just my personal opinion.
I do know that Hutch does the template design and that probably does take away a bit from other development. But, Ive waited 15+ years so I don't mind waiting a little longer to have a good LB game.

This is not a LB game. It is a Portalarium game under the direction of Chris Spears. Really think about all the words that LB has said about SotA in the past and present and you will realize that his ideas and thoughts have been cast aside at almost every turn. The game is truly shit, not fun unless you go way way out of your way to try to make it fun. You really shouldn't have to do that.

"Hate to rain on the parade" - I don't know Blake, I think maybe you used the wrong word there. Probably instead of "hate" you should've said "love." Most low level house owners do not have the luxury of getting a lot before everyone else in the game. Your dash may be just with other whales, but it's not with every single home owner. Just remember that fact. "but nothing carries over from the QA server" I know you are talking about actual assets, or pixels, but realize that lots of things carry over - the way people gain impressions of the game, of other players, and of Portalarium. Those impressions stick long after every game wipe. And just look at how people are gathering to suck up to town owners and guilds. I joined your guild, not knowing it was yours. because I was invited by another player that was very sweet, and we helped each other with our town homes. If I never log into the game again, be free to kick me. I don't want to be part of whatever is taking place in that game.

This is directed at FYI, my information is no where near outdated because I've been receiving handouts still up until this release. I have received them through a certain person in a well known guild, only to accomplish certain things. This included unlimited resources and money, I obtained a very large sum of money just for participating. I know these people well and know for a fact where all the resources and money came from. Most of these people getting the handouts are getting the handouts to build something but they end up abusing the handouts for their benefit, the developers let it slide obviously. Recently I haven't asked for handouts directly from BurningToad or OneandOnly because I think it's bullshit that they play this secretive game.
