So I saw a few things from a few people on the forum, and I was wondering to myself. Could people actually be waiting for the physical rewards to ship, before selling out their accounts?
Get the IRL swag, and then just flog the electronic trash? Do you think Port also thinks this could happen, thus the great delay on physical rewards? I mean, game is now one year over due. Technically should have shipped last year, that would mean the physical rewards would have still been a year+ overdue even if game release was made...
What is the reason for the physical reward delay?

Good question. It could very likely be the case. On the other hand, perhaps they expected more funding and don't feel like they have the current amount to create the physical goods AND still have enough to last the year plus launch plus standby capital for support. They don't seem like they've got the infrastructure to get those goods out on the cheap, and while the funds would be enough to cover them, they aren't enough if they've been spent unwisely.
Like you said, they're almost a year behind schedule and they clearly undershot their needed money in their Kickstarter goals. The coffers are getting light.

Anything I could say would be purely speculation.
People should be seriously questioning why they aren't developing and delivering what they promised in KS first and foremost. I mean, the feature creep is staggering. POTs aren't even in the category of feature creep. It's a completely new add-on - I mean, who would develop something like that when they haven't even developed what they promised? It's such BS.
It's like a homeowners association - the wealthier home owners say, "Oh, we can wait for a house to actually live in. Build me that utterly useless swag sauna and hot tub first. Let the peasants wait. In the end, they'll thank us because those saunas and hot tubs, I tell ya, everyone will want one and the game depends on it."
Dipshits.

What is the reason for the physical reward delay? There is no delay on the items. Technically they even still have time. They have time until October 2015. That is the small written stuff we all do press "I agree" when you purchase or pledge.

After that you can start speaking of delay.

A near perfect example of identifying a statement and providing feed back in a proper manner to remove all doubt/frustration. Just needs a reference and then the discussion is closed

I need to go back to school. 2 times i missed the correct date.
But lets say if they ship November 15 - many will receive it in December then. And the date of shipping counts , not the day of receiving.

Basicly that EULA is arse covering for them They could use the money for building a rocketship and then change the conditions...as its their right to... Like all EULA are. Nothing wrong about SotA in that case. Look at a snip it from Facebook EULA about the rights you give them about your content. Sharing Your Content and Information You own all of the content and information you post on Facebook, and you can control how it is shared through your privacy and application settings. In addition: For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, like photos and videos (IP content), you specifically give us the following permission, subject to your privacy and application settings: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any IP content that you post on or in connection with Facebook (IP License). This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your account unless your content has been shared with others, and they have not deleted it.
When you delete IP content, it is deleted in a manner similar to emptying the recycle bin on a computer. However, you understand that removed content may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time (but will not be available to others). When you use an application, the application may ask for your permission to access your content and information as well as content and information that others have shared with you. We require applications to respect your privacy, and your agreement with that application will control how the application can use, store, and transfer that content and information. (To learn more about Platform, including how you can control what information other people may share with applications, read our Data Policy and Platform Page.) When you publish content or information using the Public setting, it means that you are allowing everyone, including people off of Facebook, to access and use that information, and to associate it with you (i.e., your name and profile picture). We always appreciate your feedback or other suggestions about Facebook, but you understand that we may use your feedback or suggestions without any obligation to compensate you for them (just as you have no obligation to offer them). And we all click "I agree". : )

We don't pay FB for the "privilege" to post there. Dont worry. They make enough with the Data we provide. They could pay you even 5 Dollars and still make more profit out of us. Forbes did release a chart about what we are worth: We are 90 Dollars worth for Facebook. Not bad.

I also have issues with their policies but oh well.

It is possible the physical rewards are holding people back from selling; a lot of the pledge rewards were deliberately set to appeal to Ultima nostalgia. And people just don't want to let go of prior investment, it's what's known as the Sunk Cost Fallacy.
I've not yet pulled the trigger of contacting the brokers to get most of my money back for similar reasons, if I'm honest. I probably will now though, especially as I can use it for another holiday with the girlfriend which would be so much more emotionally fulfilling than trying to wait for Shroud to become worth the investment.
However... If you listen to one of the recent video Postmortems, I asked about the physical rewards. I was hoping they'd say something like "We've got some of them printed, and are signing them as and when we can!" but I suspect the truth is, like most kickstarters, they'll be done right at the end of development, if at all.
And they've promised THOUSANDS of items here; I was going to try and estimate how many signatures they will have to honour, but of course that's now changed by pulling those rewards if you don't donate enough in time; which is another reason I personally was so angry. I wanted to help them sell the game; instead I may have helped screw over people who gave money in good faith by just politely reminding them of the commitments they'd made.
Meanwhile they've not even got features like the College Of Arms supported yet, so the chances of them having a working relationship with outside manufacturers has to be considered lower too... Even if I stay invested, I really don't feel confident any more I'm going to even see the physical rewards at all. That I had to add the $15 international postage fee they've been sitting on for 2 years, natch. Whilst Elite Dangerous still owes people a number of their pledge rewards months after launch, sigh. And their forums just ignore that because hey, screw you, I got MINE. Outright financial fraud is tolerated as long as you believe in the product enough.
I've grown to hate Kickstarter and crowd sourcing, yes indeed.

I thought the game was originally slated for Q3-Q4 of 2014? Did the original Kickstarter say the goods would be at launch or a year after launch or...?
