www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/take-a-guess-when-the-game-will-launch.24011/page-4#post-349903What gets me is that this game is funded hugely by backers' nostalgia and what they think RG and Company is going to do. For every person who worships the ground RG walks on, there's a person out there who would punch the guy in the neck if they caught him in the street. He's a pretty divisive figure. While most if not all of us are here because of his name on Ultima and UO, no one can really point to anything he's done of any meaning in the gaming industry in over a decade. And while most people may wait 'til a game is done, reviews and first impressions are made before launch when early access is available. The early access on SotA is swell and dandy on sites and forums in support of the game and the devs who brought us the Ultima series, but check out some comments and reviews elsewhere. It isn't blowing people's minds right now. Will there be more people buying Episode 1? Of course there will be. Will it be upwards of 350,000? I wouldn't bank on it. The whales and fanatics are already here, and some have already come out and said they won't be paying another dime until they see more from Portalarium. Episode 1 will also have to offer a lot more than is slated, since so much is already being claimed as Episode 2+ content.

Jesus templara, they are IN LOVE ok man. They ain't be seein straight!
You are on to something about the reviews and early access though. If it is out there, it is going to be judged accordingly.

When SL got people to jump over to the Steam reviews and give a good review, it was in the 80% range mostly positive. But now, it's falling to 72% which is dangerously close to the middle, and that's where most knowing people on Steam, won't touch a game. I was going to bring that up on the SotA forums but figured the apes would go wild and blame the messenger.

Man don't people know how to argue?
For every statement post a reference to back it up.
These circular argumentso are making my eyes bleed.
On another note in an interview with nbnn star schlong has announced a new skill gain method akin to UO.
Now if only someone could tell me the point of the dev+ forum and the mystery of the universe would be revealed to me.

Now if only someone could tell me the point of the dev+ forum and the mystery of the universe would be revealed to me. Point of Dev+ was to milk early backers. Universe revealed; they looked through the most powerful telescopes back towards the Big Douche(portalarium) and saw only: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I will never get used to that account name. I wonder who TantX even is?
And thanks for quoting me. As Caliya said, they're dangerously close to Mixed. Mixed on Steam is bargain table bullshit; if it ain't going for $1.99 or less, you can forget about it getting sold with any regularity, and those playing it are highly likely to jump straight on the bandwagon and burn the reviews section to the ground.

Ha! Dev+
Like everything they've done, if it doesn't have a price tag attached, they won't do it. If it is not limited in some way, they won't do it.
Limited information for Dev+ members only Limited housing Limited POTs Limited people who can post in the forums without getting beat up or banned Limited honesty, virtues

I get more updates to the game elsewhere. It's pathetic. No mention of combat upgrade but the illuminati all know what it is ridiculous that information in a paid alpha is withheld to the majority. It serves no purpose coz the only people around are those interested in the fucking game. This is not an alpha. There is no point. They would do better to close shop for 6 months with their best buds and release the game.

Yeah, one branch of the illuminati is testing combat, the other branch is getting model assets to build scenes.
Dev+ is beyond a joke and should make anyone who bought into it for inclusion cry.
