The 'CONTRIBUTIONS BY EMPLOYER' is not a list of businesses that donated to political candidates or campaigns. It is showing you the total amount donated to a campaign by those who list their employer.
Example:
Bob Jones works for Home Improvers and donates $1000 to Mary Smith for President in May.
Bill Daly works for Home Improvers and donates $50 to Mary Smith for President in May.
Mary Smith's 'Contributions by Employer' form for May would list Home Improvers with a total donation amount of $1050. The business did not make the donations, the employees did, they simply listed their employer in the employer field as Home Improvers.
You'll notice, also provided, is a report entitled Contributions by State. This does not mean the State made the contribution, it means the report is showing donations made to the entity sorted by state based in the reported state field on the donation form. Contributions by Date, Contributions by Zip Code, Contribution by election are also included
