User reviews: RECENT: Mostly Negative (24 reviews) OVERALL: Mixed (797 reviews)
Wonder if they'll call to arms thier forum cheerleading crowd soon to go out and get some positives up to make it look better.

I wonder if chrissy spears will be promoting this fact. Way to go Portalarium! I think that's a large part of why they've suddenly gone so negative; Streisand Effect in full force, people have become aware of how they were trying to spin (and write their own!) positive reviews, and it triggered a backlash from the true silent majority... those who dislike the game but had simply walked away. I know they'll blame we critics for being so "loud", but honestly, we've done nothing new to trigger this review swing. It could also be coming from new players who purchased during the Steam Winter Sale (someone must have done so, even if not very many!), but what ever the real reason, I know I've nothing much to do with it... it's ALL because of their own public behaviour, or the quality of their product in the public eye.

Think they're doing a promo with Crowfall too, someone invests to crowfall at certain level or something they get Sota steam key,the more people that play Sota the worse the reviews will be I think.

I believe the Crowfall $20 deal was specifically for the telethon day that Crowfall was running.

I believe the Crowfall $20 deal was specifically for the telethon day that Crowfall was running. Yes, best as I can understand it (the poster on Reddit wasn't very clear) the Shroud devs turned up in the telethon itself and made the promise to those watching, it wasn't advertised or listed anywhere via the Crowfall devs.

It's been dropping, slowly. There are something like 1000 reviews, so it takes quite a few in order for it to drop in overall. Back when Starr asked for positive reviews in February 2015, it was because the Steam overall was in danger of dipping below 80%. So it's been nearly 2 years of more negative than not reviews to dip it down 17% points. Even if they're pulling in only a 40% positive currently, they're still getting 4 positives for every 6 negatives. That doesn't have a dramatic immediate impact on the overall score.

Yes, best as I can understand it (the poster on Reddit wasn't very clear) the Shroud devs turned up in the telethon itself and made the promise to those watching, it wasn't advertised or listed anywhere via the Crowfall devs. They also made a post publicizing it on their FB page. It doesn't seem they promoted it much beyond that.
