Hey all,
Someone here (Argyle I think) mentioned that they knew how to run a dedicated server in DST. For anyone familiar with hosting dedicated servers, have you had any problems with applying your custom settings in worldgenoverride.lua? Mine seem to use default settings no matter what.
Also, in the settings.ini, the "game_mode" and "server_intention" lines, used for designating the modes Survival, Wilderness, or Endless, seem to be unresponsive and unable to control the game mode. This wouldn't be a problem, except that the server info that prospective players see ends up sounding broken, "Game Mode: Lol Idk" (not exact quotation).
Lastly, the server doesn't ever reset, even if everyone is a ghost. Anyone familiar with this issue, a setting option to fix it, or an in-game admin command to work around it?
If I can just get these three issues ironed out, I'll have a fully modded and operational dedicated server, so any advice is appreciated.

I assume you've done some googling, but thought I'd share this link in case you hadn't come across it. It is what I used to set up my server on my home machine.

Thanks for the link Argyle. I have visited it before and it has been very useful. Fortunately, I visited the Klei forums and was able to sort everything out. In case anybody else ever needs this info...
worldgenoverride.lua requires a new placement location, based on a new dedicated server hosting format. The link that we used hasn't been updated yet (though there is a disclaimer at the top, they don't mention that it applies to everyone, not just those hosting servers with caves).
settings.ini is read upon server creation, so to make changes, you have to make a new server. That's why my changes weren't registering.
If you are unable to reset a server automatically, enter into the dev console: c_reset("true"). (without the ".")
While I'm glad I figured my problems out, all it really means is that I have to start over :/ Also, in case anyone else doesn't know, dedicated servers hosted in this manner still come from your machine through your internet, though they are optimized better than non-dedicated servers. Fossil previously tried to explain this to me, but to no avail.

Dedicated hosting through Steam is a pain. I'll talk to my buddy whom hosts dedicated servers. He's really into VB servers so well see how this plays out.

I'm busy until around a week from now, but if someone posts a date and time, I'll try to be there.
