Not very Well its not about how big it is, but how well you use it.

Three posts this morning from RG, here: www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/kickstarter-opinions.45186/page-7Only one I'm going to partially quote: " But we needed the core of crafting, combat, skills, magic etc, no matter what. Now that's mostly done, so we can focus on story. " I cannot overemphasize how scary it is that RG is of the opinion that any of those, that is, the 'core' is "mostly done". It's not done. It barely works, and pretty much every skill is buggy in some way, or pointless, overpowered, redundant, or imbalanced when compared with other skills/weapons/trees. The entire skill 'forest' is a hot mess, imo. Anyway, he's trying to produce a calming effect by posting, we'll see how it goes.

Yeah I too wish they would have done the skills a bit differently. I never did like the diablo skill tree stuff much. Is it possible by "done" he means at least in the game? I think there are whole skill trees not in the game yet, gardening for example? Then the tweak/balance comes probably over how many months

Even after RG is like "settle settle" - not BDF, he is above the law.

RG only posed because the shitstorm is getting louder by the day. Yes, that would certainly be one of the reasons. I'll be watching that SinglePlayer hangout he spoke of like a fracking hawk though. Soon as I can, damn timezones.

Inconsistent moderation has destroyed stronger communities than this. Silencing the discussions does nothing to quell the frustration and anger. Firelotus is the worst offender, and that's the nicest thing I can say about her professional behavior.
Not that forums should be their primary feedback mechanism or crowdsourcing solution. Ideascale would have been far better over the past 3 years for collecting and distilling ideas and implementations, rather than just spending 5 minutes on an FAQ once a year and letting it rot. The amount of non-effort they've put into actual innovation is embarrassing. But then, that would mean they're actually interested in gathering innovative solutions and making an innovative game. First step on that path is Humility though, and that's not in their playbook.
