So I got this mouse. At first I was meh and just blocked some holes. Then he moved into the pantry. I chased him out and didn't see him for a few nights. Then the scratching began. Now I see him most nights. He has a sense when I don't have things to throw or the bucket I've made to catch him. He crossed the line when I saw him on my daughters toys.
I want to unleash unholy suffering on this rodent. I am not averse to traps and poison but want to get the right bit of kit. So do I just lay traps? If so what bait or are the sealed poison canisters the way to go?
I do prefer to catch him with my hands but now I think I don't have the time to fuck around.

We lived on the countryside when I was young, and our brand new constructed home was a magnet for probably every field mouse within 10 miles. lol
The only things we did: we had a cat (and yes they do a very nice job), but even the cat couldn't keep up. So we laid traps with bait. It was like fighting windmills.
Unfortunately, where you see one, there are a whole lot more.

Have you tried conventional traps with peanut butter or cheese?

You can make unconventional traps too with PB.
Get a 10gallon bucket. Get a rod and a pringles can. Get a piece of wood.
Eat pringles, put lid on the empty container. Poke holes for long rod(even coat hanger) in both ends of container. Poke holes in opposite sides of bucket at top for rod. Position one end of rod through bucket hole 1 and slide Pringle can to middle, position the other side of rod through bucket hole 2. Spread Peanut Butter all over the pringles can. Position wood ramp up bucket leading to pringles can so it is jumping distance for mouse's relative size. Mouse climbs ramp. Mouse jumps to PB. Mouse slides into bucket. Mouse is confused and sad.
