Did you like Pirates of the Burning Sea?
If so keep an eye out on this one...
That's as much as I can say at this point in time.

PotBS was cool, in concept. I put in weeks worth of game time into that one casually. It was good to play by myself, but the issue is not everyone wants to steer a ship. So many people I knew wanted to be crew, not a helmsman or a captain. They wanted to fire a gun or board a ship, but not maintain their own vessel.
I enjoyed the character clothing options and even the basic customization features (guns, bombs and dirty fighting Privateer for the English, myself), but it left a lot to be desired. I loved seafaring on AA and UO (5 years running a privateer on UO shards). AA's got bogged down with people just using harpoon skiffs, though, unfortunately. Still fun though.
I've seen this one before (remember the website they've got), but while it feels like it'll be beautiful and immersive as a standalone captain, it doesn't seem to really reach out to people who just want to crew, which means I'll likely be left out (wifey barely wants to fly her Aurora 'cause she hates flying - WOMEN DRIVERS AMIRITE?!?).

www.navalaction.com/#ageofsailbblackstoneVery slow pace of development but I own the game and can get people into it if your interested. You can download it and play it through steam even though it's not on the search list. It's hidden but if you know stuffs you can already take a try at it. It's core mechanics and combat are very good. They added crafting but there is no swashbuckling. It's similar to Eve but not there yet. Personally I think it has a chance to be a gem but who knows what day that will be.

Haha my friends that got me into the game weren't around at character creation. I'm a Canadian so I decided to be a Britt. I was leveling up playing abit learning the ropes. They logged on and go wtf bro? I'm like what? They go wtf is wrong with you? You're not an American! I was like oh well what port are you at? I can't remember the name but it was like a 2 hour sail south. This map is crazy huge... that was maybe 1/4 of the map. So I get there and they were at a neutral base. I escalate one of them into a fight. The ship battles are long, epic long . We're going at it and you can join ongoing battles. 3 other buddies mericans join in so it's a 4V1 I'm dying but surviving. Then a group of random britts drop in and roflstomp all my buddies. Made my day I laughed so hard. We chatted for abit and they wanted me to join them. I was like actually you just rekted all my Bros. We had a laugh and on he went. My friends weren't happy they lost all there mods .

Has anyone tried this game? It has "Mostly Positive" on Steam, but only 77%. They used the same game engine as Mount & Blade. Blood & Gold: Caribbean

It's the game that Caribbean! should have been. I was pleasantly surprised to find it added to my Steam account for free. The original game was an unfun, bug-filled, botch job, and this is the best response to a failure I've seen from a company in a long time. That said, the game is fun, but ultimately repetitive, (just like Mount & Blade: Warband).

Is it a good or bad repetition though? Some repetition can be ok.

Is it a good or bad repetition though? Some repetition can be ok. I've been playing Warband. The problem I have with it is that it gets to be a bit grindy, not because the game is bad, but because the NPCs keep doing stupid shit and putting your plans on hold. "Oh, great, they committed treason. Now I gotta' retake that fucking city again instead of moving the fight forward against Rhodok." That kind of shit. Is it fun? Hell yeah. Sieges are a pain because it comes down to trading arrows with superior numbers (you only siege with ONE ladder or ONE siege tower), so that gets dull, but big melees are enjoyable. You can cheat really easily, too, so if the grind gets a bit much ("Yes, Level 28! Now I only need... 120,000 XP?! That's like a week of playing!") you can just E-Z mode it to your destination and then play as normal. I'll likely take a peek at this since it's pyrats.

I have to say, it's the most fun I've had playing a pirate since Sea Dogs (which is still fun).

What kind of slow internet y'all got down under? lol I notice the game is full price (20€) and not on sale. But that is pretty cheap. I might wait but if everyone gets it this week, will go ahead and get it.

What kind of slow internet y'all got down under? lol In my last house we had pits that looked just like this. Three of them down our street that were flooded constantly. See, the councils here think it is too ugly to hang telephone wires on...telephone polls. So the government dug trenches and then charged everyone access for them.

That's terrible.
There are places in Europe it's hard to get good internet. Fortunately we're in a city that has super fast speeds (faster than we had in the last US city we lived, and cheaper) and is reliable. And not underground in a pit like that.

Yeah, shit, I wasn't expecting 40 bucks. I need to research it better tomorrow and see if it is something that can hold up long term for me.
