So this morning I woke up to see that Insane has logged into my account and changed my picture.
Do you think such disrespectful actions are appropriate, especially on a board that calls itself moderation-free?
Even if he thinks I'm a faggot (i dunno rly what his fucking problem is), he'd be better off telling me this, not doing the shit he'd done.

I hear a new argument you have Tsar... or should I say "Darth Rageous"? *compares changing avatar to sleeping with girlfriend* Faith in your logic, misplaced may be. At an end your argument is, and not short enough was it.

Know what shits me about Stirling. She plays the violin in videos like a fkn Carebear smashing the /playviolin emote, drives me god damn crazy. I've not looked her up live though.
I mean, just stand or sit and play it, wtf with the movement!

Her hair is all stiff but her dress blows around lol
I hear this song everywhere I go, just like any pop music. I mean, love songs are nice but this just doesn't seem realistic. But then, I generally don't like pop music.

Aha, I took you for a metal guy. I live with a head banger. lol
I'm too old, I really don't care for much commercial main stream music of any kind. I like a bit of anything at times though. I mean, who can't love The Bard's Song?

My most usual music I listen to though, is classical (mostly western but also sometimes eastern Indian), solo piano (no vocals) and anything calming like massage music that has harps, piano, or sometimes Celtic.
Generally I don't usually listen to music with vocals. But there are times, like if I'm out in the city and there are events/concerts, I like folk music, some jazz, some blues, mostly ballads or protest kind of music too.
I only know of Blind Guardian because of my husband. I'm not a metal fan but there is some I can appreciate.

I would tend to agree with most of this definition for a hipster, and thus, we really do fall in the hipster category. I don't consider it an insult to be called a hipster. Urban Dictionary: HipsterI think templara is right, we listen to just about anything alternative and non-mainstream. Indie too. Tend to like Linux and other open source software. But I think most hipsters like Apple products, we absolutely hate them. And I could go on.

Of course, I could also disagree that I'm a hipster, I was only going by the definition in the link I posted.
Hipsters think they're counter-culture when they actually aren't and are following the hipster culture trends.

So then Templar too is a hipster (surely Agalloch isn't mainstream)? But by the article's definition, hipsters listen to indie-rock, not just anything that is non-mainstream (where did you get alternative from?). Defining hipsters with as broad a stroke as "anything that others don't like" devolves the term into a useless cliche. At one time, as is evidenced in your source, hipsters had numerous defining cultural elements (androgynous hairstyles, thin men, thrift store clothing, anti-consumerism, etc.). I don't care whether or not the term becomes another vagary like the terms troll, epic, and feminism, but I would like it to be known that this term has not always been a near-meaningless blanket term.
