...if you listen to the moronic community over there. Anyone want to speculate what happened on 10/10? Down 36 pledges? WTF? Also check out the daily Britannians column. I dare someone to ask about it on the official SOTA forums. I'd love to hear the huffing and puffing of the whales/fanboys and their excuses. EDIT: They also have less pledges today than they did at the beginning of the month. :-\

There is a prebaked excuse for this already. 'People are all buying Viking Bundles from the add-on store and those aren't included in new pledges!' which has been confirmed by smack, but still, those numbers are really lower than I thought possible.
The negatives I believe are related to steam refund processing but I can't say for sure. Could also have to do with the processing of the merging of pledges or something but can't really say for sure.
They'd also insist that steam pledges aren't included but I can't be bothered showing again how wrong that is. Steam $ aren't included, pledge numbers obviously are.

It could also be the property speculators are now starting to cash out; why this would surprise the community is beyond me, but if you appeal to Real Money Traders, they obviously have to sell up all their assets before the game market collapses, or they'd take a loss on the final balance. These are not "Backers" of the game, they're mercenaries who will fight for it only as long as they think it's winning, and the pledges we see being refunded might be for that reason.
I wonder too, now items are permanent and selling "looted" pledges is legal, if you can make a pledge via Steam, transfer off the items, and then refund the pledge itself and make pure profit? That may also be what is happening.
Or the game could just suck, and people are playing it, thinking "Oh hell no", and are just honestly refunding? But where Shroud is concerned, you can never expect honesty alas...

Those missing Pledges could also have been this; www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/recent-bans-for-botting-and-exploiting.68140/For those wondering, 30 were banned for exploiting various issues with the game to the point those 30 accounts now held 20% of the entire economy's gold; issues which, you know, if they were busy actually making and testing a game instead of an Add On Store they should have caught. Like from what I gather, still being able to move even massively overloaded, which would have allowed them to recall home and then auto-craft. But they had to go permanent in this state all the same! And not because player numbers had cratered already, no no no...
