Telethon Definition: noun a very long television program, typically one broadcast to raise money for a charity.
Mind you the definition has evolved on different sources.
I specifically remember two Telethons in my life and both were held as the last extent to keep the organizations alive. It was by all means the last ditch effort.
We now have imo the abuse of what was envisioned to help struggling community programs / charities. Used and abused for the prosperity of a business that's looking to make a profit.
When you have a single telethon I can understand the reasons behind it. When you have multiple telethons a year there's a semantic issue on the virtues the people solely abide by.
I would donate to a charity in need, I wouldn't donate to a business that's looking to turn a profit. Especially when you've already far exceeded a generous backing.
To each their own and what they enjoy but please don't talk about morals when you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
