Anyone see it?
I'm not sure I want to watch the new one sadly... the originals are cornerstones for me.
Kinda like Ultima...

The trailers really were a complete turn off for me. One friend who was also not excited for the movie went to see it and said it wasn't bad. He wasn't recommending it, but he said based on the trailers he was expecting it to be much worse.
I love the first Ghostbusters. I like the second probably because I was a kid when I first saw it and I would never argue it's a classic. I don't think this movie interferes with my appreciation of those two.
Those trailers were so bad though, it's hard not to imagine a movie those scenes are in that isn't also bad.

Feminist remake dumbed down for the PC generation.
Doesnt even capture anything that made Ghostbusters great. In fact missed the whole fucking ballpark.

Could it be that the era of remakes is a dark age?

The previews were so horrific & dumbed down, I had no interest. I loved the original Ghostbusters too. This is not a feminist remake. It's a BS remake.

It's a BS remake. True but it's trying to cash in on PC Crap I think they want to appear as if being PC and giving women "power," but the truth is, it's a way to try to milk the storyline to make more money. At least that's the way I see it. It's lazy and cheap. They can't come up with a good script so they just remake the same one with women, and a piss poor job at that. Then if people don't like it, they try to say it's because women don't have equality. No, it's because they made a shitty movie.

Women hold considerable power however because it is not perceived as a mans power is this lie that women are victims is perpetuated. It bullshit. You know it and I know it. Yes that have 180ed the story line completely even having a highly sexualised man as the secretary...as I recall in the originals the secretary was not a sex object. Its exactly like you said its a shit movie, its been made to pander to uneducated masses of the PC crowd. There is just no soul anymore On another note have you guys seen that Netflix show Stranger Things? Now that is fucking amazing nostalgia

Well that would be a man hater, not a feminist. A true feminist wants equality, not overpower.

I don't want to get into the "who has more power" stuff, because women do have a lot of power, used correctly. And men have a lot of power, used correctly.
But dodgy, if you say women have not been victimized anymore, in this day & age, I'd say you've been hiding your head somewhere....
What I do like is how women are speaking out against the men who have victimized them, such as Roger Ailes. Men need to stop doing that shit, plain and simple. They won't as long as women's voices, and rights, are suppressed.
I haven't seen Stranger Things, plan to see what it's about. We've been watching Marco Polo on Netflix. They did a relatively good job on this 2 season broadcast. I'm not sure how true to history most of it is - I'm sure they've liberally embellished it with fantasy. But they do portray a lot of women having a lot of power in that series - but equally still beneath men in some ways - Khan's wife had considerable authority but he, being Khan, could override her (and did).

I believe I heard they defeat the bad guy by shooting him in the dick. Well that would be a man hater, not a feminist. A true feminist wants equality, not overpower. trying to equate the two. In just saying, if the movie was concerned with female empowerment and presenting that, it probably did itself no favors by defeating evil by using their proton beams on a guy's dick. If that is what actually happens. Again, I read or heard it somewhere. I haven't seen the film.
