As of 20160129: 648 current lots in NPC & PRT housing hexes, combined. 6154 pledgers with lots to claim as a pledge reward. What could go wrong in 120 working days. Sure, they'll be able to produce 5506 lots in unique, high performance, not copy-n-paste, location-desirable hexes, right? Hehehe, well, I almost said it without laughing. 45 lots per working day. hmmm... 4-5 lots per hour (8-12 hour days) with a single dedicated employee doing nothing but that. eee aaai !

The game seems completed borked if you don't own a house.

Heh, yep. Everything is perfect if you have: A lot. A house. (actually, this is really optional, sadly) All the crafting stations as rewards. All the crafting & harvesting prosperity tools. All the starting armor, weapons, and equipment.
I read the other day that a row lot deed will be 60k gold to purchase, in-game as of, Sep 1, 2016. Given that's worth $100, that puts the SotaGold:Dollar ratio at 600:1.

Does anyone believe that those early to place backers are not going to be working to create real estate empires?
I believe I've read on can make roughly $1000 gold in 20-30 minutes or so (please correct me if I'm wrong). If that is the case, the average Joe is looking at 20 to 30 hours of gold grinding to purchase a lot. Some hardcore players can do that in about 2 weeks. It seems feasible that the rabid fanbase would easily fill up available housing within a few months from release.
The concept of player run towns is sleezy. I love the positive name they use, as though it's great to be in this dumping ground established solely to store the housing they oversold because they couldn't turn off the funding spigot.

I dont think any of us spending money on this trash are winners Even those who turn a profit reselling accounts just do it at the expense of someone else's suffering. Im torn.

The people at the top have it good though. It does seem very trickle-down type of process from day 1 with SotA.

I love arguments against being pay to win. 1) you can't win in an online game and 2) pay 2 win is selling items with powers in the store. People will always argue, and disagree, whether there is a 'win' mechanic in online games. It should more appropriately be argued is it pay for an advantage, and there is no argument there. There are numerous advantages the real money purchases provide beyond the cosmetic. I don't care if it is a good or bad thing, that's for each to choose on their own. The simple fact is there are pros for many of the KS rewards and add in store items that give those players an advantage in game, chiefly an economic advantage.

Yes I agree, I was just kind of jesting there Going P2W as an argument about any online game is an immediate loss to your argument. The real argument has to be in context with Pay for Advantage. In context of the game you are playing and not any other, nemolives does a very good job explaining and contrasting this in SotA with his videos.

Yeah nice job getting that locked because you "devolved into nothing more then personal bickering and troll bait" Just another way of them saying, "Don't get them thinking. They might get mad at us. Let's shut this puppy down." And here we are, 2 years later with Bubonic having the same reaction when actually having to discover it the hard way.

Look at the forums now they have been steered back to talking about PoT's and housing.

Gonna be great when Group 80 goes for a lot after spending 500 on the game. You'll be getting ummm, nothing a house on an island to nowhere. Still no response from anyone on the team. Do they not have the answer? Some more work todo eh?

i dont get why the devs are afraid to post in posts like that that matter to their backers. I guess the same reason they dont answer those questins in the hangouts they know it will piss people off to know the truth. so instead they ignore them and piss them off more?

so fragile cant handle criticism I have trouble handling criticism too, even if later I come to see it was warranted. Personally, I've always liked the improvements to the game's art. The problems are much more and deeper than the art though.

so fragile cant handle criticism And to be fair to Qball there, I think we all know how that forum treats people. At that time, they treated devs just as poorly as others, but they have cut most of them out now.

No doubt the majority won't really enjoy getting bent over by said plan... Or, they just don't have one, yet!

Its a shame how this is turning out, when you see people like Chris Roberts answer peoples questions as best he can, as often as he can, then seeing someone like Richard not really know much about his own game, its sad. In this thread i see lots of regulars complaining, im honestly surprised it hasn't been locked yet.
