I thought this would be another good thread to make up if were going to get into the climate change thing.
I'm not going to present any sort of case at this point. I'm just going to leave you off with I'm pro the pipeline except in Nebraska marshes.

I am not educated on this matter enough to comment. Especially since it is a intra-Canadian affair which I am even less informed about! I will give you an idea about how much I don't know about this, I thought it only went from the BC coast to AB so I've not a clue why you mentioned Nebraska, haha.

That section was basically through a national park. not to mention when pipelines leak in that type of environment the damages caused gets multiplied. Since no one is really biting on this one or maybe don't know much about it. I'll expand abit with a hint on the stock markets for railroad has gone crazy lately and the people involved in purchasing the railroads are quite some familiar names.

I used to protest this pipeline when still living in my home state of Nebraska, so you can guess where I stand on this issue.

I don't know about Nebraska swamp issues, but I saw this video a few weeks ago (posted in November), from a tribe in British Columbia, that has been fighting to keep Chevron, and other interests, off their land. I get really furious when I see what those companies are doing. Further, the tribe can't even call the police about trespassing because the police themselves are trespassing.
While I know we need energy, I don't think this is a good idea for anyone except profiteers. We should be heavily investing in alternative energy, electric vehicles, and all the rest.
