It's that most wonderful time of the year! So, I figured I'd throw some games out there, let you know what I recommend if you haven't already heard of it or purchased it. One is Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. It's a simple team-based FPS but with swords and bows. It's really fun, pretty casual (well, I imagine some people take it super seriously). For $5 it's a good buy, I think, I'd recommend it on sale. Another that I recently bought and cannot recommend enough is LISA. If you liked Earthbound at all, or are as fucked up as I am, you cannot pass this game up. Seriously, look into this one, don't pass it up. This is a "hit you in your feels nutsack" kind of game. Mount & Blade: Warband is on sale. I'm probably the only one here late to that party, but I've been waiting for it to go on sale after playing the demo. The single-player is really fun, and the multi-player is legendary. Can't wait to give that a try, but the single player is keeping me busy. There are others that are more obvious - Fallout 4, Witcher 3 and so on - as well as older gems like Medieval II: Total War (if you're into that sort of thing), but what are some games you all picked up on sale or would recommend?

If I had the time, Fallout 4 would be first up on the list. But alas, I sure don't have the time for a FO game atm!

I'm mostly bowing out of these sales this year because I have a Disney trip coming up in January that'll will do a good job of draining me. I was given Dark Souls 2 Scholar of something or other and Tales from the Borderlands as belated birthday gifts. My library of shame is at 345, so with each sale it gets harder and harder for me to justify a purchase. Renowned Explorers and Pillars of Eternity are near the top of my wishlist and both on sale, but I'll have to wait and hope for them as Christmas gifts.

My brother suggested Don't Starve Together on Steam. It looks like a pretty fun isometric survival co-op game. Has anyone tried it?

I haven't tried Don't Starve Together (and it also has one with ships now - don't sink together? I forgot) because Don't Starve was very frustrating. More realistic, because if you starved, you really did die and have to start over (ever so slightly reminiscent of Dark Souls).

I enjoy don't starve together and think it really makes the base game (which I also enjoyed) even more enjoyable. You have to enjoy those types of survival games though, because really that's the deal, living as long as you can. It also means dying isn't a start over. If you happened to pick this up, I'd be happy to accompany you in a game.

Argyle, I hope to be playing DST come mid-December with a few friends. I will be sure to link up with you so that we can separate in-game and starve alone.

Is it just co-op or can more than two jump I'm together?

I'm down for this, I like the style of the art quite a bit. I'll pick it up in Early Jan.

Great! It would be fun to die with some SotA friends. Argyle, who do you usually play as? I'm leaning towards Wickerbottom, Maxwell, and Webber.

Mordecai I usually play as Maxwell, which has a lot to do with not having unlocked many of the other characters in the base game, so I have stuck to what I know. I'm all for variety though, so I might jump around. Does anyone have any connections for a dedicated host? I could host on my machine, but my upload is poor and I'd hate for that to impact play. I'm free for the adding on Steam. Search beatniche and you'll find me.

Does anyone have any connections for a dedicated host? Where I live, Internet never left the 90's, so count me out for hosting.

If you don't have to actually play the game to host it, ie dedicated mode, then I can raise a permanent host easily. But connections from overseas could be around 200ms.

Don't Starve Together definitely gets rid of some of the frustration of Don't Starve. You don't have to start from scratch when you die. Working cooperatively also makes it much easier to survive (though not easy)
