Maybe next they'll put dildos and blow up dolls in the add on store. I know what SU's real contribution to the add-on store would be if our collective prevailing sentiment toward SotA's development were made into an wearable in-game object: THIS IS YOUR GOD

Where do you find those kinds of things? lol After a lot of years of meditating, since I was 9 years old, I think I have something like those sunglasses on all the time. It's the reason that TV and the media, in general, are so unappealing to me. Because that's all I see when I look at any of it. And why the add-on store items, and especially expensive consumer items in a game, are also so distasteful to me. I never really thought about it, in that way, until I just now saw that video. But it articulates it quite well.

But it articulates it quite well. Glad you and Dodgy like it (sorry to thread-jack your thread, but when I see an opportunity to post gold, I can't resist.... even if it's seemingly OT). By "kinds of things," if you mean the glasses, well like you said... some of us have fashioned our own internal pair that we're always wearing, while others aren't as fortunate (or choose to ignore the obvious signs of mindless consumerism all around them). If you meant where do I find such videos, idk. Just a scattered catalog of subversive filth eternally rattling around in this noggin of mine. What can I say, except I'm concerned with the systems of control, those that control my life and those that seek to control it EVEN MORE~!I'm just glad I still have enough of a sense of who I am and what I'm about that I didn't get swallowed whole by my sense of nostalgia and desire to be a mini-Medici in a crowd of mini-Medici's patronizing those who I once thought were "great artists"... How disgusted I felt when those I championed as great creators turned out to be little more than marketing shibboleths and snake-oil salesmen ("thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" <--- sound familiar?). Finally, before turning this thread back to its previous content, here's a choice tune for Dodgy and the rest of the bubblegum chewers (and ass-kickers) in the crowd:

This information is being widely circulated in the scientific world right now. They've also done studies on gender bias, based on a female scientist's CV (curriculum vitae, which is like a resume of sorts). They are advising to avoid these words, among many other mistakes (women make the mistakes just as much as men). These are words that aren't typically used about men. caring compassionate hard working conscientious dependable diligent dedicated tactful interpersonal warm helpful This poster is being circulated:

I stumbled on this video today, and was wondering, wtf is that? A bunch of hairy monkey men that are talking about picking up women. I couldn't stop watching it, it was like watching a train wreck. lol
"If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal. If her daddy's poor, just do what you feel."
Yes, this was advice from men, to men.

Not talking about that post specifically, you just seem tense and particularly man hatey This is a "women's suppression" thread, and the point was to illustrate how women are treated in general. It's the reason I posted that silly lyric. People don't think twice about it unless you question it. I think questioning is a good thing. I'm not tense, I'm intolerant of being treated like an object (or even based on my family's income?). I insult old white men too much. I will try to be as even handed towards them as I am towards those of other races.

Someone posted this on Facebook today, and since I used that term a lot, thought it was appropriate an "old white man" said it. Here is the article (it's really excellent, and has statistics too): Is Sir Patrick Stewart a Feminist? Make It So.

His message is so good. That's the place I've always been coming from. But when he says it, it's accepted. If I say it, I'm a "man hater."

I did a study in university on post marital weight gain. Of the women who did gain weight after getting married it was determined that in over 90% of the cases it was due to a heavy switch in diet to the husband's preference of food intake. In essence women started cooking shit food cos its what their husbands wanted, and it didn't do either of them any good. Women tended to suffer more ill health effects due to physiological differences in fact.

More feminist propaganda Men lose two waist sizes when leaving a long term relationship. It's coz we go back on the hunt. Spread that seed Boi!

I have done my best not to adapt my diet to my husbands (German meats, pork, etc) and during the day I have mostly vegan foods. If I hate like him, I'd have gained a crapton of weight. He's adapted some of what he eats because of me too. heh dodgy women usually lose that much weight when leaving a relationship as well, not cooking for those meat eating hunters....

This doesn't bother me seeing as how its a Chicago newspaper trying to relate the information to its readers who are primarily in the Chicago area and presumably more interested in Chicago things. If the NYT wrote the same thing, I'd say it is a little fucked up.

Oh I can understand, to some degree, it's related to Chicago in a Chicago paper. But, if it was a man that won a medal, and they said he was so & so's husband, I seriously doubt people would think that was normal. Put the shoe on the other foot and see how it reads.
When men make news, that are married to famous women, it's not nearly as common to call them someones husband. As if their marital status mattered in any way.
Also, as if the piece wasn't newsworthy, on its own, unless it was related to a sports player in Chicago?
How about, Bill Clinton's Wife Runs for President?
