I think one of the things that I predicted about the imbalance in treatment within the community back in 2013 is really starting to be highlighted. Either that, or the Whales are just having a bad day?
What do you all think!

Confirming: Themo not banned.

Confirming: Themo not banned. Of course not. The consequences of your actions on the SotA forums is directly proportional to the amount of money you threw at Portalarium.

Jesus, not even a 24 hour warning or temp ban?
One thing that bothers me most that people don't seem to realize is how the clique controls things there. Notice the previous image you posted in another thread where the dude in response to Themo says something about not reporting him. The fact is, you can get away with using terms like 'shitstorm' or phrases like 'fuck you' without banning if you are towing the line. That's the real problem as I see it. Not that the mods are simply overzealous (they are) but that the community protects its own. If people are outspoken critics, the smallest slip results in reporting while the community turns a blind eye to those who are supportive of the overall project.
Its there that good mods should be even handed arbiters. Instead, they are part of that same group of players and the warnings and bans are unfair.

Not even a 24hr temp ban to cool off. Nothin' - and the mods are just muppets. I can blame some of them like Mystic(asshole), Darkblade(racist), and Koldar(Useless) for being each of those but in the end when it comes down to the ban that is all up to the company.
I suspected that he would get a very short temp ban actually. The mere fact that it wasn't spur of the moment, it escalated over several posts and he was like, you know what? Fuck you. Premeditated.
But no ban? They really won't put their bans where their money is will they. Yes I saw that not reporting thing and that makes me wonder who would even click the report button on that guy at all because it wouldn't do any good.
I don't really know what to say or do in a situation like this. If you guys have any suggestions for those of us/you who are still involved in posting in the forum, let us know.
Follow him, put him on watch and report infractions? Create a petition and mail it to Port?
I dunno!

I normally never report anyone, even when they are clearly violating forum rules and blatantly trolling. The reason? They do it to lock my threads.

I've been on other forums where people use the report feature as a weapon, but not to the degree you find on the SotA forums. They act like self-absorbed little children when you take their toys away. Some of them come here and tell us we are sociopaths...whatever...when a simple glance in the mirror would validate where the real mental issues lie.

I just checked in the mirror, I has no reflection. I'm good!
I don't know if you can blame the users, in full that is, over there for the environment though. Take a look at who allows it, how has shaped it, who continues cutting off all opinions other than those of: omg i love this game please let me have more - Mommy Portalarium

Take a look at who allows it, how has shaped it, who continues cutting off all opinions other than those of: omg i love this game please let me have more - Mommy Portalarium The problem is you don't know the "whole" community. All you can do is base your opinions off what you see. Portalarium tightly controls that so it's hard to discern the rest of the group unless they post in other places or challenge the most visible members, which they rarely do. As we've all learned: Perceptions are real. They may not be true, but they're real in the sense that people will make a value judgement about you based on them. The lesson for the rest of the SotA community is to stop letting a handful of whale's behavior dictate what the rest of the world will inevitably assume. If you do, then as far as anyone outside of the community is concerned, you're just like them.

What was the content of the post that got Joviex banned? If memory serves, he didn't tell anyone to 'go fuck yourself'. Yet the community will rally to defend Themo, who has clearly taken advantage of his funding level and position as a combat tester to belittle another community member and violate the forum rules without repercussion. Its an absolute joke and so are those that defend this nonsense.
But hey, it apparently can't be argued that this community isn't the best community that's ever existed. They're so welcome to debate, criticism through open and fair dialogue.

Personally liking Themo Lock's style (banned or not) for telling Baron Von Douche Bag to fuck himself, is priceless.
Again thanking IM's forum, for it's the only place one can find the SotA fertile dirt.

I think I agree. I take it Themo is a bit pissed off due to snake oil, maybe, but the double standard part that comes in is pure unadulterated Entitled Whale favouritism.

I suppose many of us here could be considered nihilists but I'm not quite sure what the S. Carolinian reference is about (me = ignorant), and I'm American so maybe I should know. For our friends here who aren't American, maybe explain?
